About Burton Morris

Drawing inspiration from pop artists of the 1960s and ’70s, such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann and Red Grooms, Burton Morris creates high-energy, fun pieces that go beyond the traditional canvas and include pop culture phenomena such as the iconic Heinz Ketchup bottle.

His work extends beyond the edges of a drawing board with bold, colorful designs and playful interpretations of everyday objects. The artist has his roots in fine arts and earned a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 1986.  He founded Burton Morris Studios in 1990.

Morris gained national attention in the ‘90s when his artwork was chosen to hang on the set of the hit sitcom, Friends, in the Central Perk cafe.  Morris’ art also was selected for the 76th Academy Awards®, the Paris World Cup Soccer Games, the 38th Montreux Jazz Festival, the 2006 Major League All-Star Baseball Game and the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, increasing his international exposure and appeal.

Burton Morris original artwork is featured in collections around the world, such as The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and The Jimmy Carter Center. His single artist exhibitions include Sotheby’s of Amsterdam and the International Olympic Museum of Lausanne, Switzerland.  Recently, he unveiled a series of paintings, “Fashion Frenzy,” at Hamilton-Selway Fine Art gallery in Hollywood and exhibited his work at Visionnaire Art Gallery in Milan.

A proponent of art education in schools, Morris, who entered and won numerous contests in his youth, credits his teachers and his parents for encouraging him to pursue his passion and career as an artist.

The Pittsburgh native has created signature artwork for corporations such as H.J. Heinz Company, AT&T, Perrier, Microsoft and Sony. Morris also has supported the work of numerous charities through his art.
