Ketchup Creativity At A Glance

The Buzz
The Heinz Ketchup Creativity™ Contest rewards students in grades one through 12 for their creative abilities and teaches them about art, food and nutrition. Since its debut in 2006, the program has attracted tens of thousands of entries as students vie to have their artwork featured on millions of Heinz® Ketchup packets distributed across the United States.

For participants in 2009, the rewards are even richer. Artist Burton Morris joins as a celebrity judge and offers fun tips and helpful advice to young artists. A proponent of art education in schools, Morris credits his teachers and his parents for encouraging him to pursue his passion and career as an artist. Morris will select the top three finalists in each grade. Also, for the first time, America will choose the grand prize winners in an online vote.

With Ketchup Creativity, Heinz continues a rich tradition of engaging consumers in a way that celebrates their love of the iconic brand. The company's innovative campaigns range from personalized labels, giving consumers the ability to pen their own messages on Heinz® Ketchup bottles, to open calls for the next great Heinz® Ketchup commercial, inviting consumers to create their own ads.

Rewards for Creativity
The 12 grand prize winners each will have their artwork printed on approximately 19.5 million Heinz® Ketchup packets - that's more than 200 million combined, their art displayed in an online gallery, and a $1,000 cash prize. Their schools will receive $1,000 toward art supplies, $1,000 worth of free Heinz® Ketchup and a framed portrait of the winner's artwork.

Art and Nutrition Education
The Ketchup Creativity™ Contest Web site, www.KetchupCreativity.com, provides teachers with grade-specific lesson plans that can help students learn about food and nutrition in unique and colorful ways.
